Löbnitz

Löbnitz is a charming rural community in a truly delightful landscape. On the edge of Düben Heath, Löbnitz is surrounded by the Mulde floodplain and Lake Seelhausen. Explore nature on the signposted circular trails at Lake Goitzsche and Lake Seelhausen or on the Mulde Cycle Route.

The historical highlights of Löbnitz are best discovered on the Mühlen walking trail and the Luther Trail. In particular, these include the first mention of Löbnitz in the year 981 and the impact of reformer, Martin Luther, at the former local castle, Schönfeldt. Löbnitz also has a Protestant church featuring a painted ceiling consisting of 250 biblical panels, which is the only one of its kind in Central Germany.
